Don’t let Don’s larger than life
presence fool you; underneath that tough exterior, he is truly a Big
Teddy Bear who will do almost anything for us down in the barn,
including the odd project here and there. Don joined DEFHR in April
of 2010 as a means to get a bit of a “workout” as he put it, and to
kill some time between jobs. To date, Don has donated over 400 hours
to DEFHR and comes out 2 to 3 times a week regularly. Don has gotten
so caught up in DEFHR that he has also managed to entice his entire
family into volunteering in some capacity.
All three of Don’s children now volunteer down in the barn with his daughter Emily being the most active with over 200 barn hours so far this year. Following close behind Emily, Don’s wife Joyce has donated over 120 information technology (IT) hours already this year. Joyce has been a vital addition to the IT team, playing an integral role in the our database overhaul and the rebuilding of our reporting system.
Don, we can’t imagine not having you and the rest of your family here at DEFHR. On behalf of the Barn Staff and Management, thank you so much for all that you and your family have done for DEFHR thus far! You mean the world to us!Congratulations!!
