ADOPTION INFORMATION

Horses adopted to homes in the following states:

MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, DELWARE and PENNSYLVANIA

All horses adoped outside Maryland must be within a 100 mile radius of Days End Farm Horse Rescue's Facility. All horses are also available for on-site Foster Care.

Days End Farm does farm inspections before adoption and follow up visits on all our adopted horses for two years. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds or the manpower to do this properly in any other states at this time. After two years, the adopter may be granted legal title, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, based on the adopter's care of their adopted horse, however, breed registration papers are retained by Days End Farm Horse Rescue to help enforce our "No Breeding" policy.

Note: Days End Farm Horse Rescue does not sell horses. We do ask for an adoption donation to help defer the costs of rehabilitating future horses. Adoption donations range from $500 to $1200 and are accepted in cash, certified check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Click here to see a sample Adoption Agreement. Overreaching Goals:

  • To provide transportation, holding facilities and quality care for abused and neglected horses.

  • To promote public awareness for the dramatic prevalence of horse abuse and neglect.

  • To foster coorporation and coordination with Maryland humane officials in their abuse investigations.

  • To involve the community in events, activities and a continuing enviroment which teaches patience, kindness and creates a sense of moral and social wel-being.

Since its beginning, Days End Farm has been a place where children and adults have found enrichment, satisfaction, sadness and purpose through helping to provide care for unwanted, abused or neglected horses. Since its inception, Days End Farm has gone from a small non-profit that sheltered only a few horses annually to a full scale well-respected national rescue and rehabilitation facility housing 50 to 70 horses at any given time. Days End Farm’s budget, and corresponding donations, have grown from $50,000 annually to over $1,200,000 in a twenty year span!

In 2008 alone, over 1200 adults and children volunteered their efforts, helping the Farm to achieve its mission. Equally as important to its successful growth has been Days End Farm's increased focus on humane education, and providing Disaster and Large Animal Rescue Services on both local and national levels. As Days End continues to grow, so has the need for adequate space required by the horses and programs. The old 18 acre farm served us well during our earlier years but was literally bursting at the seams, with every square inch in use. Finally, in 2008 we were able to find a farm that would meet the needs of the horses in our care and the programs we provide. On April 30, 2008 we made the move to our New Farm facility. Our new facility includes 58 rolling acres of grass and trees that allow the horses acres to run and play as well as providing many outbuildings that will serve the needs of our horses, volunteers, our programs and our many friends and donors!!

Days End Farm Horse Rescue is a part of The National/ International Combined Federal Campaign, affiliated with Animal Charities of America since 2004. The Farm is also a part of Charitable Choices website and satisfies their 10 Accountability Standards. Days End Farm is very proactive in regards to donors and volunteers rights to privacy and knowledge of the internal workings of the farm. Please click here for our statement on donor's rights.

Besides the "Best in America" award that Days End Farm Horse Rescue has received, Days End has also received a 4-STAR rating by from Charity Navigator for sound fiscal management. Less than a quarter of the thousands of charities that Charity Navigator has rated have received their 4-Star rating, indicating that Days End Farm Horse Rescue outperforms most charities in America in it's efforts to operate in the most fiscally way possible. This "exceptional rating from Charity Navigator defferenciates Days End Farm Horse Rescue from it's peers and proves it's worthy of the public's trust.

Symbiotic Relationships:
A symbiotic relationship is between two entities which is mutually beneficial for the participants of the relationship. Thus there is a positive-sum gain from cooperation.

Your support is always needed to help care for the horses, grow existing programs,
initiate new programs, and maintain our facility.

Please help us help the horses by donating whatever you can to help !
