How do I get started volunteering?
All volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Orientation prior
to volunteering. Volunteer Orientation is led by volunteer Linda
Shaff and an outstanding volunteer support team!
Orientations are held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the 2nd Saturday
and the 4th Tuesday of every month at our farm. Youths under the age
of 18 must be accompanied by at least one of their parents/legal guardians.
Youths aged 12 and older may volunteer
without a parent after attending orientation. Children under 12
may volunteer if a parent/guardian volunteers by their side and provides
supervision at all times.
Volunteering
at Days End Farm is a wonderful family experience.
Make it a Family Event!!

To register for orientation, email
info@defhr.org
or call the office at 301-854-5037.
You will need to bring your completed
volunteer
application
with you to your scheduled orientation. After orientation,
Volunteer Coordinator, Jill Pokorny, will contact you to schedule your first
day of volunteering.
It is
important that you
schedule your first day so that we may have a
volunteer mentor or staff member available to help you begin your
experience.
On your first day, you will need to bring the
completed
volunteer
release form. Youths under the age of 18 will need a parent's
signature on the form as well as their own to begin volunteering.
Both the completed application and release forms are required before
you begin volunteering. (You may download
Adobe Acrobat here!)
If you are unable to download
the forms, you may pick them up at the Days End Farm Horse Rescue
office.
